Seeing the characters either struggling with conveying their feelings or misunderstanding each other over
and over again is not something new, because is present in every JBL. The key is to no overdone it,
because when this is done, it makes the relationship look like it could crumble at the very first sign of trouble.
We have stuff like this present in even the most loved and popular JBLs out there like Utsukushii Kare, My
Personal Weatherman, Cherry magic etc but in those series they were used in a clever way, as a way to
make the characters reach their limit, realise that they have to do something or they will lose everything.
In Living with him, it looks like this is not only used to obtain the opposite effect, it even shows other
characters stepping in and easing things up in their stead, when it should have come from them.
The reason why Utsukare will always be my favorite BL lies on the way Hira and Kiyoi`s relationship is
being shown as a product of their longterm efforts and devotion, a relationship that doesn`t depend on
anyone than the people in it. The way the characters would do everything, strip themselves whole in front
of their loved one if they have to in order to make the relationship work. The way someone as indecisive,
acking in confidence as Hira would decisively hold into Kiyoi and challenge himself to be able to move
forward together with the person he loves and the way Kiyoi would repetitively put his pride down and refuse to give up on Hira despite everything.
I wish Natsukawa would stop doubting himself and stop hesitating so much. This much hesitance is way
too unbelievable and it makes me doubt of his like, of whatever he really likes Kazuhito.
Kazuhito is not that much better too because boy, i am sorry not even Ryuga`s portrayal will save you from this one.
